'Dangerous weakness' of some EU states

The EU may be planning an emergency rescue plan for Greece after a leading German politician warned the 'dangerous weakness' of some EU states could threaten the entire euro zone.

Officials are said to be considering emergency support for Athens as the European Commission president made it clear that economic policies are no longer just a matter for individual nations.

Note: perhaps general politics also will be "no longer just a matter for individual nations" because there' s lots of corruption in some EU states that going to undermine EU' s long-term prosperity and development. Tackle corruption is a main job to the EU as institution.
